Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is dedicated to raising awareness. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and is the second leading cause of death as well. The root cause of breast cancer is still unknown. Although, the one known thing is that cancer cells begin to grow when the DNA of a cell is damaged.

A breast cancer diagnoses can be difficult, but with the aid of new technologies, such as mammograms, more women continue to live healthy lives. Seeing your doctor on a regular basis for early detection can help save your life. But, there are many different types of treatments for breast cancer. Finding the best care plan is key in fighting the cancer and getting a person healthy again.
