Registered Nurse (RN)
Windom Area Health has openings for Registered Nurses, who will provide patient care at our Critical Access Hospital. Nurses at Windom Area Health are well rounded, and provide care to our inpatient, ER, and OB departments. Work with patients/families and providers to develop and carry out plans of care, while communicating to increase understanding and collaboration. Work with your team of fellow RNs, LPNs, and Health Unit Coordinators to provide safe, competent, and effective patient care. New grads welcome to apply, we will train. Position includes working every third weekend and holiday. 12 hour shifts on the weekends, choice of 8 or 12 hour shifts during the week. Occasional ambulance transfers required. BLS, ACLS required. We will work with employees to obtain their NRP, and either TNCC or CALS. Generous PTO program, health/dental, 7.5% match for retirement, and tuition reimbursement of up to $6,000 for advanced degrees.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Windom Area Health has openings in their nursing department, to provide excellent patient care to our inpatient, OB, and ER departments. Licensed LPNs within 1 year of completion of their RN are welcome to apply and work as an LPN until completion of degree/boards, at which time the position would convert into an RN position. Position includes working 12 hr shifts every third weekend, holiday, and 12 hr weekday rotating shifts.
$5,000 Sign on bonus with a two year commitment.
Mental Health Therapist
Windom Area Health is seeking a motivated full-time Mental Health Therapist to use their expertise in providing patient care to our community and help our growing organization develop a unique walk-in mental health clinic concept. Duties including providing individual therapy and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to provide acute treatment to clients, serving a mixture of scheduled and walk-in clients, and coordinating client care with other necessary support services in the best interest of clients (e.g. family, school, care givers, medical primary care providers, collaborative therapists etc.) This position will work closely with other clinic staff to develop and hone a new clinic model that will best serve our community. Master’s degree in a clinical practice field of psychology, mental health counseling, or social work required. Licensed by the State of Minnesota as an independent behavioral health professional AND 2+ years of experience providing psychotherapy in an outpatient setting.

Health Unit Coordinator - Mainly Evenings
Windom Area Health is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator to supporting our nursing units. The position serves as a multipurpose support in assisting with patient care, registering patients, cleaning instruments, stocking, completing birth certificate documentation, answering phones and greeting visitors. This position will be mainly in the ER. CNA, Medical Assistant or medical secretary background preferred, but not required. Experience in healthcare preferred. Mainly evening shifts (2:30p-11p) and every third weekend (7a-7p), approximately .6 FTE. Health insurance eligible!

We are seeking an outgoing individual to teach group fitness classes in the Wellness Center and provide member relations support. Duties include creating and teaching group fitness classes, assisting with memberships, providing basic fitness information, and facilitating member relations. May assist with wellness department activities and special events as needed. Flexible hours are available and may include mornings, afternoons and evenings, Monday through Friday.
Qualified candidates must have desire/ability to create and teach group exercise classes. Previous experience teaching and/or attending group fitness classes preferred. Must also have the ability to communicate well in person and over the phone, and lift up to 25 lbs. Upbeat and outgoing personality required and ability to modify routines for various levels. Candidates with personal training background, Certified Fitness Instructors, or other athletic training/certification preferred, but not required. Basic computer skills are required for daily operations. Must obtain Basic Life Support Certification within six months of hire.

Windom Area Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist (.6 FTE) for our growing surgery department. Responsibilities include providing superior patient care through surgery, procedures, and central supply activities. Must be available to take call once a week and PRN. Must be a graduate of accredited surgical tech program. Experience and AST certification preferred. Ortho experience helpful.

This position will answer non-routine correspondence, schedule and manage calendars, assembles confidential and sensitive information, makes meeting and travel plans, coordinates monthly board meetings, including taking minutes, setting agendas, and communicating with board members. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize workload. A high level of professionalism will be required. High school graduate or equivalent required; Associates degree in business, office management, or medical secretary preferred. Two years of experience providing administrative/executive support required, experience with municipal/public entities preferred.

Clinical Program Director
Windom Area Health and Healogics are hiring for a full-time Clinical Program Director to join our Wound & Hyperbaric Healing Center.
The Clinical Program Director is responsible for the management and the strategic growth of the Wound Care Program and other wound care continuum programs for the assigned area of responsibility. This position is responsible for the complete oversight of the Wound & Hyperbaric Healing Center to include the following functions: day-to-day center operations, staff management, financial management, quality/performance improvement, community education, and clinical functions oversight. The Clinical Program Director is also responsible for maintaining collaborative and consultative client relationships within and outside the hospital organization and for creating effective working relationships between Healogics and the hospital. Candidates must have a minimum of a Registered Nurse (RN), A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, BSN or related field. Masters degree or APP (NP or PA) preferred. APP candidates can expect to be credentialed to provide patient care on a limited basis. Clinical operation experience or leadership required. Candidates should have experience with and be comfortable with marketing/community education in the healthcare industry. Passion for Wound Care, Wound Care experience preferred but not required. Management experience preferred but not required.

Paid Time Off (PTO) Time off with pay is accrued for personal (vacation, holiday, illness, or other) needs. PTO accumulates from the date of hire and may be used only after the Orientation period is complete. A limit of 320 hours can be carried at any time. Once an employee reaches that level, they will stop accruing PTO until time is used. For purposes of the table below, one year of service is the equivalent of 2,080 hours paid.

Sick Leave Bank
Accrued bank of hours to be used for illness related to you or an eligible family member, lasting 2 or more days. Sick bank hours accumulate based on hours paid and can be carried over with a maximum accrual of 960 hours. The accrual rate is .0192 per hour paid. Sick Leave Bank hours may not be used until the Orientation period is complete.
Full-time and regular part-time employees are eligible to receive bereavement leave. Days provided differ based on family relationship.
Time and one-half (1 ½) an employee’s regular rate of pay will be paid to any employee working on a designated holiday observance including New Year’s Day (1/1), Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day (7/4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day (12/25).
Windom Area Health provides health insurance through Medica. Coverage options include single, single + spouse, single + child(ren) and family coverage. WAH pays 75% – 80% of the total premium for full-time employees and regular part-time employees. Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. Open enrollment occurs once each year (normally in November).
Family Medical Leave
Windom Area Health provides 100% of the cost of dental insurance for full-time employees. Employees are able to 'buy up' for family members or for richer dental plan coverage. FT employees are eligible on the first of the month after 30 days.
Windom Area Health provides vision insurance through EyeMed. Coverage options include employee, employee + 1, employee + children and family coverage. Full time employees are eligible for vision insurance on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Part time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
Life insurance options are provided through Hartford. Employees have a guaranteed issue of $100,000 and can obtain up to $300,000 of coverage based on medical underwriting. Spouse and dependent coverage is also available. Costs vary depending on age and amount elected.
AFLAC provides a variety of insurance options. AFLAC insurance options include, but are not limited to, short-term disability, cancer protection, accident insurance, life insurance, and dental insurance.
The FSA is a pre-tax savings plan for unreimbursed medical or dependent (child or elderly) care expenses. WAH matches employee contributions into the medical plan up to $10/month for full time and $5/month for regular part-time employees.
A legal assistance and identify theft protection plans are offered (separate or together) at the employee’s cost for part-time and full-time staff.
Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) is a mandatory retirement savings plan required because of WAH’s municipal status. Both WAH and the employee contribute to this retirement savings plan. As of 1/1/12, employees contribute 6.5% of their gross earnings and WAH contributes 7.5% of the employee’s gross earnings. Retirement benefits are based on years of service and your age at retirement.
MN State Deferred Compensation
Employees may contribute up to 50% of annual taxable income or $18,000 whichever is less. Employees over age 50 can contribute even more. Employees choose investment options, and pre- and after-tax options are available.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP is a confidential counseling service available to all employees and their family members. EAP services are contracted through VitalWorkLife Solutions. Contact 1-800-383-1908 for up to three (per incident, per family) free and confidential appointments.
Financing Clinic & Hospital Bills
WAH employees may designate funds to pay hospital/clinic bills through after-tax payroll deductions.
Employees receive a 20% discount on memberships. Employees may have their membership paid through payroll deduction. Employee members that use the center 12 times per month will receive reimbursement either through insurance or the fitness center.
Physical Therapy Consultation
WAH employees may seek a complimentary evaluation from the Physical Therapy staff. Subsequent treatments for a medical concern must be ordered by a physician and will be charged as an outpatient procedure.
Windom Area Health supports the development of local students interested in, or entering the healthcare industry. When possible, we will provide local students observation and job shadowing experiences upon request.
