Lung Cancer Screenings
Windom Area Health is excited to announce that we are now offering lung cancer screening, a powerful tool in the early detection of lung cancer.
For current and former smokers, this non-invasive, low-dose CT lung screening serves as an important step towards early detection of lung cancer and the protection of patient health.
Patient Eligibility Criteria:
- Age 50-77
- History of smoking of at least 20 'pack years' (1 pack/day for 20 years OR 2 packs/day for 10 years)
- Current smoker OR former smoker within the past 15 years
Most insurance plans and Medicare help cover these recommended lung cancer screenings. To schedule an appointment, please call your primary care provider!

Lung Health Fact:
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Heavy smokers have a 25-30 times higher risk of developing lung cancer compared to non-smokers.
