Windom Area Health offers outpatient cardiac rehabilitation to educate patients and help regain strength after heart surgery or heart disease. A specialist will monitor your heart rhythm, blood pressure and other important vital signs and design  an exercise program to rebuild the heart muscle to help patients resume their activities of daily living. Cardiac Rehab staff works with the patient on setting individualized goals to reduce risk factors to help prevent future heart events.

Duration of Cardiac Rehab varies with each patient, varying from 12 sessions to 36 sessions. Patients typically attend cardiac rehab three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) at a set time.
