Collaboration allows hospital to continue providing exceptional care by implementing leading edge technology
WINDOM, MN – Windom Area Health recently partnered with TeleHealth Solution ™ to provide afterhours care to patients via telemedicine. The service will help provide expert clinical care to both inpatients on nights and weekends, and also to patients needing to be admitted from the Emergency Department on nights and weekends. Nursing staff have the ability to connect with the provider via a monitor at the patient’s bedside.
Windom Area Health’s CEO, Shelby Medina, explains the need for the service, “In healthcare, physician burnout is a real thing, especially in rural settings where primary care providers work in a clinic all day, along with care for their patients in the hospital around the clock. Not only is this difficult on our providers, but it also makes it difficult to recruit new providers to rural communities, that may be looking for more work/life balance.”
Windom Area Health’s Governing Board, medical staff, and leadership team, have all identified that retaining current medical staff is a strategic priority, along with being able to attract new clinical talent to our communities for generations to come.
