Windom Area Health Achieves Accreditation with ACHC

ACHC Accreditation Gold Seal

Windom, MN – Windom Area Health proudly announces it has once again achieved accreditation through Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for the services of sleep studies.

Accreditation is a process through which healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Accreditation by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

ACHC is a nonprofit organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986. ACHC is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has CMS deeming authority for Home Health, Hospice and DMEPOS.

For “in lab” sleep studies, Windom Area Health has partnered with SomniTech and Sanford Pulmonary Clinic.  SomniTech is a sleep service provider who works with partnered hospitals to bring sleep medicine to rural communities. SomniTech utilizes state-of-the-art sleep equipment run by credentialed sleep lab techs. These “in lab” studies are read by a physician certified in pulmonary disease and sleep medicine. These partnerships provide efficiency from the referral through the treatment process, and are dedicated to increasing patients’ quality of life through better sleep.

Sleep studies have become more versatile, now your initial sleep testing may be done at home with a portable testing device. For “home sleep studies,” Windom Area Health has a registered respiratory therapist on staff to assist with your sleep study. They have partnered with Sanford Sleep Disorders Center, and Sanford Pulmonary Clinic, and meet the AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) and the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicad services) guidelines to assure a quality study.

“We are very proud to be able to offer top notch sleep studies services close to home for surrounding communities,” shares Brenda Muller, Windom Area Health Outreach Clinic Director. “Our Sleep Lab Accreditation was approved with perfect marks, including the review of our at-home testing.”
