Lung Cancer Screenings

Did you know that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States? Those who are heavy smokers have a 25-30 times higher risk of developing lung cancer compared to non-smokers.

This is why Windom Area Health is excited to announce that we are now offering low-dose CT lung screenings, a powerful tool in the early detection of lung cancer.

If a patient is a current or former smoker, this non-invasive screening could serve as an important step towards early detection of lung cancer and protecting our patient’s health.

Patient Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age 50-77
  • History of Smoking of at least 20 pack years (1 pack per day for 20 years / 2 pack per day for 10 years)
  • Current smoker or quit within the past 15 years

Most insurance plans and Medicare help cover these recommended lung cancer screenings.
