2015 Color Me Fun Run a Success!

The ‘color’ dust has settled on the 2016 Vickie Schendel Color Me Fun Run! Great weather, great runners and great COLOR summarize the event.

Approximately 171 runners participated in the 4 events which included a 1 mile run/walk, 5K run/walk, Toddler Trot and Youth Fun Run. Color was incorporated in each event. In the 1 mile and 5k races, color was sprayed at each kilometer. The kids got to run through color at the finish line of their events.

The grand finale of all events is a massive color throw party where packets of color powder are thrown in the air, creating a floating, multi-colored cloud.

The event raised $6,279.92 that will go toward the Vickie Schendel Fund, part of the Windom Hospital Foundation. The fund is used for patient and staff education and has been used for purposes such as prenatal education classes, CPR class equipment, and motivational speakers for community events.
