Windom, MN- Windom Area Health and Community Blood Bank will be host a community blood drive on Monday, March 25 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Windom Area Health.  All blood donations will stay local for local use with all blood types in immediate need.

“In recent weeks, many blood drives have been cancelled reducing the overall collections by up to 42%.  Our hope is to see a strong showing from the community through blood donation at this event to help bring blood supplies up to normal levels, states Rita Nelson, Community Blood Bank. “Volunteers coming forward to donate blood is the only way to secure the blood supply for the Windom area.  Giving blood with Community Blood Bank will directly impact the lives of patients in need.  Community Blood Bank is the only local blood source and is not associated with other blood bank entities.”

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signeld parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation.  For more information log onto, call Community Blood Bank at 1-877-877-3070 or call Windom Area Health at 507-831-0655.
