Color Me Fun Run – Family FUN for all!

Windom Area Hospital presents the 20th annual Color Me Fun Run. Entrants can choose from four colorful events that are open to people of all ages and ability, including the 5K and 1-mile run/walk and our children’s events.

Color RunWhat’s New?

At every kilometer, we will be ‘throwing’ color powder at participants, marking your distance. At the end of the races, we’ll have a color party!

Ask us about helpful hints on how to make your COLOR experience safe and enjoyable!

In Memory of Vickie Schendel

Vickie Schendel was a Nurse Practitioner at Hartberg  Medical Clinic and a member of Windom Area Hospital’s medical staff. She lost her battle with cancer in 1997. Windom Area Hospital is proud to honor the memory of Vickie, a dedicated healthcare professional.

It’s a Fundraiser!

The Color Me Fun Run is a fundraiser for the Vickie Schendel Memorial, which is dedicated to patient education at Windom Area Hospital. To date, funds from the memorial have benefited the areas of lactation education for new moms, car seat safety education, as well as diabetes prevention and disease management.

A special thank you for our event sponsors, whose generosity makes this fundraiser a success. All registration dollars and proceeds from t-shirt sales go directly to the memorial fund.

Shirts

Early bird participants will receive a commemorative shirt on the day of the event, which is available in adult and youth sizes. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide shirts after the event so if you are unable to attend, please make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you.

Only those registering by May 23rd are guaranteed the requested shirt size!

5K and 1-Mile Run and Walk

The event starts and finishes at Tegels Park. Be ready for some fun as volunteers throw color powder at every kilometer of the race! When you are done with your race, grab some refreshments and join in on the post party color throw!

Toddler Trot and Youth Fun Run

The Toddler Trot begins around 9:00 am and is intended for children ages 2-5. An area will be set up in the parking lot for children to hop, skip or run from start to finish. The Youth Fun run will be a little longer than the Toddler Trot and will begin at approximately 9:10 am and is designed for children ages 6-9. Both events will involve the color powder for those who want it, and each child will receive a participation medal.

Post-Race Parties!

At the conclusion of the 5k and 1-mile events (around 9:00am) we will have a massive color throw party at the start/finish line. We will also have a mini-color throw party at the end of the children’s races for those who want to participate. Every participant will get a packet of color to throw at the conclusion of their race!
