Justin Schmit was appointed to the Governing Board in May 2020 and currently serves as a Trustee.
Currently the Market President for Bank Midwest in Windom and Westbrook, Justin has over 10 years of experience in the financial industry including experience as a nationwide loan underwriter for medical equipment financing with OnePlace Capital, a division of Bank Midwest based out of Des Moines, Iowa. Justin is currently finishing his third year of the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado. He graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN, with a major in Finance and a minor in Management.
When asked what influenced his decision to serve on the board, Justin stated, “I enjoy getting involved in the community, and I think that quality healthcare systems are essential in rural America. I want to continue to see Windom Area Health grow and offer additional services to keep our communities healthy.” Justin grew up in Jackson and moved to Windom in 2018. He is married to his wife, Ashley, and they have one daughter, Madison. He is also involved in the Windom Area Community Foundation, Kiwanis, and numerous local conservation groups.
