Windom Area Health is pleased to have Julie Brugman as Mountain Lake’s Advisory Member to the Governing Board. Julie joined the Board in an advisory capacity in 2007.
As an Advisory Member, Julie will represent the community of Mountain Lake in matters of healthcare at Windom Area Health. She will participate in monthly Board meetings, and is invited to attend any Board committee meetings. These include Finance/Personnel and Labor Relations and Building and Grounds, and Professional Practice/Planning and Quality committees. She is also invited to participate in the Board’s annual Strategic Planning session. As Advisory Member, Julie may vote on any committee issues, but does not hold a voting position for formal Governing Board votes.
“I was born and raised in Mountain Lake, and I am very proud of this community,” says Julie. “I didn’t hesitate to say yes when asked to serve as the representative on the hospital board, because I feel that everyone should look for opportunities in which they are able to help serve their community.” Included in Julie’s goals while she serves as the Advisory Member are to be a positive liaison and voice for her community, because “a strong relationship between the community of Mountain Lake and Windom Area Health is beneficial for all concerned.”
Julie lives in Mountain Lake with her husband, Dennis. After a career in banking, Julie now stays busy directing plays at Mountain Lake High School, serving on the Mountain Lake School Board, and spending time with her five grandsons. In her rare moments of spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, traveling, gardening, and spending time with friends.
