Marv Grunig, Trustee

Marv is on a 3-year term that will end 4/30/2028.

He has spent much of his life working in and serving the Windom community. After attending Southwest State College in Marshall, he farmed for several years while also working nights at Toro Manufacturing. In 1977, he began his career with Windom’s municipal electric utility, where he worked his way up from groundman to Utility Manager over a 38-year career, retiring in 2015. He also represented Windom on the Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency Board, helping guide its transition into what is now Compass Power.

Following retirement, he served eight years on the Windom City Council, remaining actively involved in community leadership. He now serves as a Trustee on the WAH Governing Board and is a member of the Professional Practice, Quality and Planning Committee, after previously serving as the City Council liaison to the board.

He is passionate about supporting the future of rural healthcare and helping ensure quality care remains accessible close to home.

He and his wife, married since 1975, have built their life in Windom, where they still live in the home they built in 1977. They have two children and three granddaughters. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking and often donates handcrafted pieces to support local church activities.
