DESCRIPTION:This is a 3-week program (6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings) covering labor and delivery patterns\, possible unexpected outcomes\, pain management techniques\, breastfeeding\, the importance of nutrition and exercise\, and tips on caring for a newborn.\n\n\nThe Prenatal Education Series is taught by a Registered Nurse who has been educated through the Sanford Prenatal Center. The series educates parents on what to expect during the birthing experience and how to care for a child. Classes cover a variety of topics including nutrition\, stages of labor\, breathing techniques\, cesarean births\, birthing complications\, breastfeeding\, the importance of exercise\, a tour of the Birth Place\, and basic safety and child care issues. This training is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs first aid and/or CPR training and a course completion card for job\, regulatory (e.g.\, OSHA)\, or other requirements. \nTraining includes:\n \n\nAdult\, Child\, & Infant CPR\nFirst Aid\nAED Usage\nBoth video and hands-on training\n\nYou Will Receive:\n \nAmerican Heart Association CPR Certification Card after course completion. \n\nMust have or set up an AHA account to claim card\nMust have an e-mail that the card can be sent to\n\nCost: $100/student + $5 for meal (optional) \n\n(meal includes a sandwich\, chips\, and water or Gatorade)\n\nSpace limited to 10 students. \nTo learn more or register\, call 507-831-0673!  Must register by September 27th. \n  \n
