DESCRIPTION:The Color Me Fun Run takes a new name\, day\, time\, location and activities. This year the “Fun Run” will help kick off River Fest festivities on Friday night\, June 8\, Windom Area High School track field area. \nNew Events include:\nUltimate Obstacle Course Relay (ages 5 and under)\nExtreme Tic-Tac-Toe Relay (ages 6-10)\nFun Run: Our 5K will have five event stations\,(1-mile two event stations)\, from bubbles to silly string it’s sure to be a great time! \nAll funds raised from the run event will be donated to the Women’s Health Fund and Patient Education Fund. DESCRIPTION:The Parkinson’s Support Group Meets monthly – Every 2nd Tuesday from September – June. \n2:00 p.m. at the Windom Area Hospital \nLarge Conference Room (enter through Rehab Entrance) \nOur informal group is a great resource for those recently diagnosed\, to long time survivors\, to anyone in between! Caregivers are also welcome to come alone or with their loved one. \nHospital staff facilitate the group and arrange for speakers on topics the group is interested in. Topics have included: exercise\, advanced directives\, nutrition\, adaptable equipment\, medications for Parkinson’s\, and more. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Chamber Coffee on Friday\, June 15 in the Windom Area Hospital Cafeteria from 10-11 a.m. hosted by Windom Area Hospital Auxiliary.\nCHAMBER BIO\nWhen were you founded or when did you open in Windom? \nThe Windom Area Hospital Auxiliary formed for a second time in 1974 in anticipation of the “new” hospital being built at the current site.  We have members who have belonged to the Auxiliary all 44 years!!! \n  \nWhat are you featuring or discussing at Chamber Coffee this Friday? \nWe host the Chamber Coffee as a reminder to the community of all we do to support the hospital and to encourage people to join.  It also is a way for us to thank you as businesses for your support of what we do. \n  \nWhat are some of your goals? \nEach year the Auxiliary donates all of the money we raise to purchase one piece of equipment for the hospital.  We ask businesses to become a patron member for $25\, buy our raffle tickets at the fair\, support our bake sales\, etc.  This year’s project will be to purchase a Power Tower for the Physical Therapy department.  Cost is $5\,365. \n  \nWhat is your favorite part of belonging to this organization? (managing/owning/working for your company?) \nBelonging to the Hospital Auxiliary allows a person to meet new people.  Strong bonds are built working and volunteering side by side to support the hospital. \n  \nWhat is something members of the Windom Community may not know about your business (example: a service or product)? \nBeginning in December 2015\, Auxiliary members began serving as Lobby Hostesses Monday-Thursday for 3 hours a day to guide patients to different areas of the hospital.  This has been rewarding for both patients and members. \n  \nHow many members (employees) do you have? \nWe currently have 43 active members and 30 associate members. \n  \nAre there any new changes to your organization (business) or changes coming up in the future? \nSeveral Auxiliary members recently agreed to be trained to become part of the hospital’s Emergency Preparedness plan. \nDo you have any specials or promotions coming up? \nBeginning this fall\, we have agreed to take over the sale of bags of fresh pecans from the Episcopal Church so look for advertising about that.
