DESCRIPTION:The Parkinson’s Support Group Meets monthly – Every 2nd Tuesday from September – June. \n2:00 p.m. at the Windom Area Hospital \nLarge Conference Room (enter through Rehab Entrance) \nOur informal group is a great resource for those recently diagnosed\, to long time survivors\, to anyone in between! Caregivers are also welcome to come alone or with their loved one. \nHospital staff facilitate the group and arrange for speakers on topics the group is interested in. Topics have included: exercise\, advanced directives\, nutrition\, adaptable equipment\, medications for Parkinson’s\, and more. DESCRIPTION:Friday\, February 23 \n8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Heart Screen™ is recommended for people ages 40-75 and uses advanced tools and diagnostics to uncover critical details about one’s heart health. Screenings include: \n\nEKG\nNon-fasting cholesterol\nBlood pressure\nBody Mass Index (BMI)\nFramingham Score – (risk estimate for developing heart disease in the next 10 years)\nHeart calcium score (CT) – (may or may not be done\, depending on screening results)\n\nThe Vascular Screen analyzes critical details about the health of the vascular system. This screen is for those age 40 and older. Type 1 diabetics should get screened at age 30 or older. Screenings include: \n\nStroke/carotid artery ultrasound\nAbdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound\nAnkle/brachial index\n\nGet the Heart Screen™ and the Vascular Screen for just $25.
